Nifty Notebook Servers
Manage Jupyter servers from the side bar: see kernels and sessions, shut down, restart or interrupt kernels, and browse, open and edit the server's files directly.
Maintained. No sign-in. No telemetry. Works in VS Code, Cursor, Windsurf, VSCodium and other editors that use Open VSX.
Features

- Your Jupyter servers in the side bar. Add a server by pasting its URL, including a
?token=… if it has one. It can be local, remote or on JupyterHub (/user/<name>). Find Local Servers picks up everything jupyter server list knows about. Tokens are kept in VS Code's secret storage, not in settings.
- See every kernel. Each kernel shows its notebook, language, state (idle or busy), last activity and number of connections.
- Stop runaway kernels. Interrupt, restart or shut down any kernel with the inline buttons. Shut Down Idle Kernels frees the memory held by kernels nobody is connected to.
- Edit files on the server, directly. Browse the server's files in the side bar, or add them to the Explorer as a folder. Then open, edit, save, rename, create and delete files as if they were local. Notebooks open as notebooks, and binary files are handled safely.
- Works with any Jupyter Server or Notebook server REST API, from VS Code, Cursor, Windsurf or VSCodium.
