Unity helpers for any editor: .meta files follow renamed and moved assets, GUIDs resolve to assets, find where an asset is used, hide .meta files, and MonoBehaviour message completion.
Maintained. No sign-in. No telemetry. Works in VS Code, Cursor, Windsurf, VSCodium and other editors that use Open VSX.
Features

- .meta files follow your assets. Rename or move a script, texture or folder in VS Code's Explorer (or with a refactoring) and its
.meta file goes with it. Unity keeps the GUID, so scenes and prefabs don't lose their references ("missing script"). Deleted assets take their .meta to the trash with them.
- GUIDs you can read. In scenes, prefabs, materials, animator controllers and other serialized assets, hover over a
guid: to see which asset it is. Ctrl+click it to open that asset.
- Find Asset References. Right-click an asset in the Explorer to find every scene, prefab and asset that uses it, in the Search view.
- Unity messages. Inside a
MonoBehaviour or ScriptableObject, completion offers Awake, Start, Update, OnTriggerEnter(Collider other) and 30 more, with the right signature and a short description. Messages you've already written are left out.
- Hide .meta files with one click in the Explorer's title bar, and show them again with another.
- Unity Scripting Reference for the word under the cursor, from the editor's right-click menu.
- Made for Cursor, Windsurf and VSCodium as well as VS Code. Works on the project files alone, alongside any C# extension.
- Works in the browser on vscode.dev and github.dev.
