Nifty SVN
Subversion in the Source Control view: changes, changelists, diffs, commit, update, blame and branches, in VS Code, Cursor and more.
Maintained. No sign-in. No telemetry. Works in VS Code, Cursor, Windsurf, VSCodium and other editors that use Open VSX.
Why
Plenty of teams still use Subversion, and the most popular SVN extension has been archived. Nifty SVN is a maintained, fast replacement that works the way VS Code's built-in Git support does.
Features

- The Source Control view you know. Changes, Unversioned, Conflicts, and one group per changelist, with a count on the Source Control icon and
M / A / D / U / C badges in the Explorer.
- See what changed. Gutter markers show edits against BASE; click a file for a side-by-side diff.
- Commit with Ctrl+Enter in the message box: everything, the files you select, or a whole changelist (inline button). Multi-line messages are kept intact.
- Everyday operations: update, add, revert (with confirmation), delete, resolve conflicts (keep yours, theirs, or mark the merged file as resolved), add to or remove from changelists, add to
svn:ignore, clean up.
- File history. Show File History lists the revisions of a file; pick one to see exactly what it changed.
- Inline blame. Author, age and revision at the end of the current line.
- Switch branch or tag. Pick trunk, any branch or any tag and switch your working copy.
- Where am I? The status bar shows the branch and revision, e.g.
branches/release-2@r4812. Click it to update.
- Works anywhere
svn runs: VS Code, Cursor, Windsurf, VSCodium, Remote SSH and containers.
Requirements
The svn command-line client (Subversion 1.8+):
- Windows: TortoiseSVN (tick command line client tools during setup) or SlikSVN
- macOS:
brew install subversion
- Linux:
sudo apt install subversion (or your distribution's package)
Nifty SVN finds it on your PATH or in the usual install folders, or set nifty.svn.path.
