1. ⚡ Instant AI Code Review on Every Save

The flagship feature. Every time you press Cmd+S / Ctrl+S:

• Nudge sends your code to the backend for thorough AI analysis
• Issues are marked with colored gutter dots directly in the editor (🔴 error, 🟠 warning)
• Hover any marked line to see the full issue description and exact fix suggestion
• The Nudge sidebar panel shows a complete review listing all issues, severities, and lessons
• For large files (100+ lines), only the changed block is reviewed — no wasted API calls
• Zero interference if less than 8 characters changed (configurable)

2. ✨ AI Commit Message Generator (New!)

How to use:

1. Make your code changes and stage them in the Git panel
2. Look for the ✨ sparkle icon in the Source Control panel's title bar, OR press Cmd+Shift+G
3. Watch the commit input box auto-fill with something like: feat(auth): add resend email OTP integration

What it does:

• Reads your staged diff first, falls back to unstaged changes
• Sends it to the AI with strict Conventional Commit formatting rules
• Auto-populates the VS Code SCM input box — no copy-paste needed
• Falls back to clipboard if the Git API isn't available

feat(user): implement profile settings page
fix(api): handle null response on auth endpoint
refactor(utils): extract validation helpers into shared module

3. 🐛 Explain This Error (New!)

Got a nasty stack trace or TypeScript red squiggle you don't understand? Let Nudge explain it in plain English.

How to use:

1. Highlight any error text in the editor (a stack trace, a TS error, a red message)
2. Right-click → Nudge: Explain This Error
3. A panel slides open with:
   • What went wrong — plain English explanation
   • Why it happened — root cause analysis
   • How to fix it — concrete code fix

💡 Works great with terminal errors too — just copy the error, paste it in a file, select it, and right-click.

4. 🔍 Function CodeLens: Review, Optimize & Generate Tests (New!)

Three AI actions appear directly above every function in your code — no right-clicking, no command palette.

6. 📁 Smart File Tree — Now With Superpowers (Enhanced!)

The file tree system got a full overhaul. Here's everything it can now do:

6a. Right-click any folder → Copy Tree Structure

In the VS Code Explorer, right-click any folder and select 📁 Copy Tree Structure. It copies just that folder's tree to clipboard — not the whole repo.

#### 6c. gitignore-Aware Filtering
The tree generator automatically reads your `.gitignore` file and excludes ignored paths. No more `node_modules`, `.env`, `dist`, or `.next` cluttering your tree.

#### 6d. Checkbox Sidebar Export
Open the **Project Tree** view in the Nudge sidebar. Check the files and folders you want using the checkboxes. Then hit the **export icon** (↗) in the panel title header to copy only those selected paths.

## 📦 Installation

### Step 1 — Install the Extension

**Option A — VS Code Marketplace:**
1. Open VS Code, press `Cmd+Shift+X` (Extensions)
2. Search for **"Nudge Junior"**
3. Click **Install**

**Option B — Direct install from VSIX:**

Step 2 — Connect Your Account

1. After installing, a notification pops up: "Connect Nudge to your dashboard!"
2. Click Connect Now — your browser will open nudge-dev.vercel.app/connect
3. Enter your name and email to create your account
4. VS Code polls the backend every 30 seconds. Once your email is linked, you'll see a notification: "✅ Nudge connected! Welcome, [Your Name]"
5. Your name now appears in the VS Code status bar: ⚡ Nudge: Sahil

Already have an account? Just sign in at nudge-dev.vercel.app/login using your email — a 6-digit OTP will be sent to your inbox.

Step 3 — Start Coding
