This is the VS Code extension for real-time YAML front matter/metada linting in Markdown files.
The extension is using the yaml-fm-lint npm package to do the linting.
Features
As with the main linting package itself, this extension is quick to install and configure. If there is a .yaml-fm-lint.json configuration file in the directory of the linted file (or in a parent directory), the extension will use it.
Configuration
Only .yaml-fm-lint.json configuration files are used.
.yaml-fm-lint.js files are ignored and never executed. If one is found, the extension shows a one-time warning; migrate its settings to .yaml-fm-lint.json.
The search for a configuration file starts in the directory of the linted file and goes up, but stops at the workspace folder.
The nearest valid.yaml-fm-lint.json is used: a file that is not valid JSON, or whose top level is not an object, is skipped and the search continues upward.
A file that is outside any workspace folder only uses a .yaml-fm-lint.json in its own directory.
