P90 – Dark Theme for Visual Studio Code

This Visual Studio Code dark theme was inspired by the popularized 90's retro color palette 🕺🏾. P90 (Palette 90) embraces sharp contrasts of yellow, red, blue, and green paired with softened tones of black designed to promote semantic highlighting best practices and ease eye strain.

Installation

1. Finding the Theme

The easiest way to find the theme is directly within VS Code:

  1. Open Visual Studio Code.
  2. Click the Extensions icon on the left sidebar (the icon should look like 4 squares).
  3. In the search bar, type P90

You can also navigate to the Visual Studio Code Marketplace directly.

2. Applying the Theme

  1. Click the green Install button. If you're coming from the website, it should prompt you to open Visual Studio Code.
  2. After the theme installs, Visual Studio Code should prompt you to reload but if not, you can do it manually to activate the theme.
  3. Open the Visual Studio Code Command Palette (Ctrl + Shift + P or Cmd + Shift + P).
  4. Type "Color Theme", click "Preferences: Color Theme", and select the newly installed theme from the dropdown menu.
