Paste Image Next creating an image asset and HTML reference in VS Code

Highlights

  • Saves PNG or JPEG clipboard images beside your code.
  • Inserts the correct HTML, CSS, SCSS, Less, MDX, Markdown, or relative-path reference.
  • Never overwrites an existing file.
  • Undo and redo cover both the inserted reference and image asset.

Use

Copy one image, open a supported file, and use normal Paste. Use Paste As... to choose the name, alt text, syntax, or path-only result.

Images go to an assets folder beside the document by default. Native VS Code image paste keeps priority in Markdown unless you explicitly enable this extension there.

No telemetry, network access, clipboard polling, shell commands, or temporary files.
