Why this exists

Your GitHub shows what you built. It doesn't show the fight.

The 3-hour bug that wouldn't die. The refactor nobody saw. The night the errors finally hit zero. That work is real, and right now nothing proves it happened, because nobody was watching except you.

Codeography watches. Then it writes the story down.

How it works

1. Install this extension and reload VS Code.
2. Get your API key from your dashboard at codeography.dev.
3. Set it — Command Palette (Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+P) → Codeography: Set API Key.
4. Just code. Codeography works silently in the background. When a session ends, your story appears on your dashboard automatically.

What it tracks

• File names and programming languages
• Number of saves, errors, and git commits
• Session duration and timing

What it never does

• Never reads your source code. Only the shape of the session, never its contents.
• Never logs keystrokes, clipboard, or anything you type.
• Never tracks you outside your editor.

Your shareable profile

Every finalized session becomes a story on your public profile — a living portfolio you can actually send to a recruiter, instead of a repo link they'll skim for six seconds and forget.

Running it locally

Press F5 in VS Code to launch the Extension Development Host and try it.
