What is Swiftask code?

Swiftask code is an AI coding assistant for VS Code, built for teams that can't afford shadow IT on sensitive codebases. Chat from the side panel, point the agent at your workspace, and let it read files, edit code, run commands, and search your project — with your approval before anything sensitive runs.

Unlike generic AI coding tools, Swiftask code runs on the Swiftask model gateway: the same governance layer your IT and security teams already use to control AI across the company.

Built for enterprise governance

🔐 Cost & usage control — Every request goes through your Swiftask workspace. Admins see who uses what, how much, and at what cost — no more surprise bills or shadow AI usage.

🎯 Model restrictions — Choose which LLMs your developers are allowed to use, project by project. Block models you haven't vetted. Allow only what's approved.

🇫🇷 Models hosted in France & Europe — For projects touching sensitive data, route requests to LLMs hosted in France and the EU. Your code and prompts stay on European soil, under GDPR.

🛡️ No vendor lock-in — Switch models per project or per task without changing tools. One gateway, every LLM you're authorized to use.

Your sessions stay local on your machine. Only the model calls go through the Swiftask gateway — under the same governance rules as the rest of your AI stack.

Core features

  • Agent chat — Side-panel sessions with streaming responses, history, and collections.
  • Built-in tools — Read, edit, and write files; search with grep and glob; run shell commands; manage task checklists.
  • Workspace context — @-mention files, folders, and terminals so the agent sees what you point at.
  • Add to chat — Send editor selections to the chat from the context menu.
  • Image attachments — Attach images in compose; click thumbnails to preview in the editor area.
  • Agent edits review — Keep or undo file changes from the editor title bar when the agent edits your code.
  • Clarify tool — The agent can ask structured questions when a task is ambiguous, then continue in the same turn.
  • Todo tracking — In-chat checklist dock for multi-step tasks the agent is working through.
