PSSE Syntax Highlighting for Transmission Planners

This Visual Studio Code extension provides syntax highlighting for commonly used PSS®E file formats, helping transmission planners work more efficiently when editing model input files.

✨ Features

Supports syntax highlighting for the following file types:

  • .idv – Batch Command Files
  • .sub – Subsystem Definition Files
  • .mon – Monitoring Definitions
  • .con – Contingency Definitions
  • .dyr – Dynamic Data Files
  • .raw – Power Flow Raw Data Files

By adding rich syntax highlighting for these formats, this extension makes it easier to read, edit, and debug files involved in steady-state and dynamic modeling workflows.

The goal of this extension is to:

  • Streamline workflows for transmission planners
  • Provide visual cues to reduce errors
  • Improve readability for batch automation and data input files
