주요 기능

시작하기

이 확장은 VS Code 본체의 레이아웃 파일과 검사 기준값을 백업한 뒤 변경합니다. 초기 준비는 같은 설치의 모든 창에 적용되며, 이후 위치와 크기는 창별로 조절할 수 있습니다.

1. 확장 화면에서 설치 / Install을 선택합니다. 호환성 확인과 원본 백업, 초기 준비가 자동으로 진행됩니다.
2. 설정 준비가 완료됐습니다 알림이 나타나면 작업을 저장하고 다시 시작을 선택합니다. 직접 같은 설치의 모든 창을 닫고 다시 열어도 됩니다. 첫 준비에는 Reload Window만으로는 충분하지 않습니다.
3. AI 뷰를 보조 사이드바에 두고 AI를 중앙으로를 실행합니다.
4. 뷰 제목 옆 버튼으로 위치·코드 표시·하단 패널을 조절합니다. 버튼이 보이지 않으면 명령 팔레트에서 VLControl을 검색하세요.

• 코드 아이콘: 중앙이 채워져 있으면 켜짐, 비어 있으면 꺼짐입니다.
• 패널 아이콘: 중앙 배치 기준 AI 아래는 왼쪽 칸, 코드 아래는 오른쪽 칸, 전체 아래는 양쪽 칸을 채웁니다.

자동 준비를 끄려면 설정에서 aiCenterLayout.autoPrepare를 검색하세요. 자동 준비를 끄거나 원본 복구한 설치에서는 **수동 초기 준비 (Enable Patch)**로 다시 준비할 수 있습니다.

지원과 복구

Windows x64 Microsoft VS Code 안정판의 UserSetup·ZIP Portable 중 아래에 나열한 빌드를 지원합니다. VS Code 업데이트 후에는 호환성 확인과 초기 준비가 다시 필요할 수 있습니다.

• 잠시 끄기: 전역 Disable을 선택하고 안내된 재시작을 완료합니다. 기본 배치로 돌아가지만 본체 파일은 패치된 상태로 남습니다.
• 복구·제거: Restore Original Files → 같은 설치의 모든 창 종료·재실행 → 필요하면 제거합니다.
• 제한: Disable (Workspace) 기능은 정상 동작을 보장하지 않습니다. 전역 Disable 또는 원본 복구를 사용하세요.

문제가 생기면 VLControl: Check Compatibility 또는 VLControl: Show Diagnostics로 상태를 확인하세요. 자동 재시작이 어려우면 작업을 저장한 뒤 같은 설치의 모든 창을 직접 종료·재실행합니다.

SystemSetup·Insiders·macOS·Linux·ARM64·웹은 지원하지 않습니다. 실험적 Modern UI, 원격 환경, 실제 AI 대화·도구 승인, 다중 모니터 DPI는 별도 검증이 필요합니다.

개인정보와 문의

확장 자체의 외부 통신·통계 수집은 없으며 코드·대화·토큰을 수집하거나 전송하지 않습니다. 백업은 VS Code 본체와 복구 기록만 포함합니다. AI 제공자의 데이터 처리는 해당 확장의 정책을 따릅니다.

Features

• Switch positions: move views in the secondary sidebar, including AI views, to the center or right. Moving to the center starts with equal widths; drag the divider to resize.
• Show/hide the editor: expand the AI area while keeping open files and running terminals intact. Explorer, Search and Extensions remain independent. Open a file or use the code button to restore the editor.
• Place the bottom panel: put Terminal, Output and Problems below the editor, below AI, or across both. Hiding the editor also hides editor-only panels; the other two options keep the panel below AI.

Position, panel placement and adjusted sizes are remembered per window.

Getting started

This extension backs up and modifies VS Code's layout file and its checksum entry. A verified first installation is prepared automatically, affecting every window using that VS Code installation. After preparation, a VS Code notification explains restart and recovery options.

1. Select Install. Compatibility checks, backups and initial setup run automatically.
2. When setup finishes, save your work and select 다시 시작 (Restart), or close every window of that installation and reopen VS Code. Reload Window alone does not complete initial setup.
3. Put an AI view in the secondary sidebar and run AI를 중앙으로 (Move AI to center).
4. Use the view-title buttons to change the layout. If they are not visible, search for VLControl in the Command Palette.

The code icon has a filled center when the editor is visible. The panel icon fills its lower-left cell for AI, lower-right cell for the editor, or both cells for full width, using the centered layout as the reference.

To turn off automatic setup, search Settings for aiCenterLayout.autoPrepare. Use 수동 초기 준비 (Enable Patch) to prepare an installation where automatic setup is disabled or the original files were restored.

The extension UI currently uses Korean labels. Look for VLControl in the Command Palette, or use the buttons in a secondary-sidebar view's title bar. AI를 오른쪽으로 means Move AI to right, 코드 화면 켜기/끄기 means Show/hide editor, and 하단 패널 위치 means Bottom panel placement.

Compatibility and recovery

Supports the listed builds of Microsoft VS Code Stable on Windows x64, UserSetup or ZIP Portable. After a VS Code update, you may need to check compatibility and prepare the installation again.

• Temporarily disable: select the global Disable action and complete the restart requested by VS Code. The native layout returns, but the files remain patched.
• Restore or uninstall: run Restore Original Files, close every window of that installation, reopen VS Code, then uninstall if needed.
• Known limitation: Disable (Workspace) is not verified to work. Use global Disable or restore the original files.

Use VLControl: Check Compatibility or VLControl: Show Diagnostics to troubleshoot. If automatic restart is unavailable, save your work, close every window of that installation, then reopen VS Code.

SystemSetup, Insiders, macOS, Linux, ARM64 and the web are not supported. Experimental Modern UI, remote environments, real AI conversations/tool approvals and multi-monitor DPI require further testing.

Privacy and support

The extension makes no external network requests and collects no telemetry, source code, conversations or tokens. Backups contain VS Code application files and recovery records only. Your AI provider's extension has its own data policy.

Report issues through Marketplace Q & A, including your VS Code version and steps to reproduce. Redact account names and other personal information from Show Diagnostics output before sharing it.
