Soundflow for VS Code

Control Spotify without leaving your code.

Soundflow brings Spotify playback control directly into Visual Studio Code. Stay focused on your work while managing your music—no context switching required.

What It Does

  • Now Playing – See current track, artist, album art, and playback progress
  • Playback Control – Play, pause, skip tracks from the sidebar or keyboard shortcuts
  • DJ Livi Recognition – Automatic detection and special UI for Spotify DJ interventions
  • Search & Queue – Find tracks and manage your queue without leaving VS Code
  • Device Switching – Transfer playback between Spotify devices with one click
  • Volume Control – Adjust volume for supported devices
  • Playlists – Browse and play your Spotify playlists
  • Copy Track Info – Grab track details in multiple formats (plain text, Markdown, Spotify URL)
  • Keyboard Shortcuts – Global shortcuts work even when panel is closed (Ctrl/Cmd+Alt+Arrow)
  • Themes – Choose from Dark, White, Spotify green, or dynamic album-based colors
  • Responsive – Adapts to any panel size automatically

Why Use It?

Every time you switch to Spotify, you break your focus. Soundflow keeps music control where you work, letting you stay in your flow state. Built specifically for VS Code—not a web wrapper.

DJ Livi Integration

When using Spotify DJ playlists, Soundflow automatically recognizes when DJ Livi is introducing the next track. The UI seamlessly transitions to show "DJ Livi" with custom artwork and "Up Next" as the title, giving you visual context that the DJ is speaking. Once the music resumes, the display instantly returns to showing the actual track—all without any interaction required.
