MEAN Stack Basics

Seventeen MEAN stack lab programs, bundled in VS Code. Open any of them in one click or one command.

# Group Programs
1–4 HTML & CSS Table, List, Intro of CSS, Form
5–6 JavaScript Counter, Form Validation
7–9 AngularJS Form Validation, List Management, Virtual Calculator
10–15 Node & Express Bank Account, Modules, Create Server, Server + Client, Express, Request Handling
16 MongoDB CRUD, Indexing, Aggregation Operations, Aggregation Pipeline, Simple Queries, String Operations (one file)
17 MongoDB Cursor and Geospatial (one file)

Three ways to open a program

  1. Sidebar: click the MEAN Stack Basics icon in the activity bar, then click a program. Use the copy icon on a row to copy it.
  2. Quick Pick: press Ctrl+Alt+M (Cmd+Alt+M on Mac) and type a number or name (7, form).
  3. Command Palette: Ctrl+Shift+P, then type ms (or ms 07). Every one of the 17 programs has its own command.

Programs open as unsaved documents, so you can edit freely and save where you like.

Running the MongoDB programs

Each MongoDB program (16-17) is self-contained: it switches to a database, recreates its collections and inserts sample data before the queries. Paste it into mongosh, or run mongosh < file.js. Re-running is safe. (mongosh --file does not support the use helper.)

Adding more programs

Drop the file in programs/, add a row to programs/manifest.json, run npm run gen.
