Geaux Themes

A bold collection of 6 dark color themes for Visual Studio Code. Louisiana-inspired, developer-approved.

Themes

Geaux-Shades of Purple Gold

The original. Rich purple backgrounds with brilliant gold and yellow syntax highlighting. Like coding in royalty.

  • Background: Deep purple #2D2B55
  • Syntax: Gold, yellow, green-yellow accents
  • Best for: Developers who want a vibrant, high-contrast dark theme

Geaux-Bayou

Inspired by the cypress swamps of Atchafalaya Basin at dusk. Dark greens and earthy browns grounded by bioluminescent teal. Swamp magic for your editor.

  • Background: Near-black with green undertone #0B1210
  • Syntax: Sage green, cypress brown, bioluminescent teal
  • Best for: Long coding sessions -- easy on the eyes with an earthy feel

Geaux-Rougarou

Channeling the Cajun werewolf legend. Deep charcoal with aggressive crimsons and smoldering ember orange. Bold, fierce, and unapologetically intense.

  • Background: Warm charcoal #141010
  • Syntax: Arterial crimson, ember orange, dusty mauve
  • Best for: Developers who like high-contrast red/warm themes

Geaux-Irradiated

Step into the Wasteland. Faithfully recreates the Pip-Boy 3000 terminal -- phosphor green text burning against a dark CRT screen. You can almost hear the Geiger counter.

  • Background: CRT black with green tint #0D140D
  • Syntax: Phosphor green, mint green, yellow-green -- all green, all the time
  • Best for: Fallout fans, retro terminal lovers, and anyone who wants to feel like a hacker

Geaux-Vieux Carre

Named for the French Quarter's original name. Pure New Orleans nightlife -- deep velvety purples, neon pinks, and electric blues like jazz club signs reflected in rain-slicked cobblestones.

  • Background: Deep plum-black #110B1A
  • Syntax: Electric violet, neon hot pink, cool blue
  • Best for: Night owls who want a glamorous, cyberpunk-adjacent aesthetic

Geaux-Gris

The minimalist's theme. A sophisticated ladder of dark grays with a single steel-blue accent. No loud colors, just structure. Like coding in a perfectly lit concrete studio.

  • Background: True neutral dark gray #18181B
  • Syntax: 8 distinct gray levels with one steel-blue accent
  • Best for: Developers who find colorful themes distracting
