ChatGiZa

ChatGiZa's coding agent for VS Code. Chat with ChatGiZa in its own panel to build, edit, and debug real code in your open workspace. It doesn't need Copilot Chat.

Setup

  1. Open ChatGiZa in the secondary side bar, where VS Code's Chat opens (or press Ctrl+Alt+G / Cmd+Alt+G). It opens there by itself the first time.
  2. Click Sign in. It opens chatgiza.com/vscode-auth in your browser -- sign in with your ChatGiZa account there and click Continue.
  3. That's it: VS Code finishes signing in by itself. There is nothing to copy or paste.

Use

Type what you want in the ChatGiZa panel, e.g.:

add a dark mode toggle to the settings page

ChatGiZa can read and search your workspace, and propose file changes or terminal commands -- you always get a confirmation prompt naming the exact file or command before anything actually happens, unless you pick Bypass approvals. Switch between Agent and Ask (answers only, no changes), choose which tools ChatGiZa may use, and add files with + -- the file open in the editor is included unless you click it off. Stop a reply with the stop button, and start over with New Chat (the + at the top of the panel).

You can also mention @vsgiza in VS Code's own Chat view, if you use it.

Sign out

Run ChatGiZa: Sign Out from the Command Palette, or from the panel's ... menu.
