This extension is a thin VS Code wrapper around the WaitEarn CLI. It does not
observe editor buffers, source code, prompts, or shell history. Commands open the
integrated terminal and run the same public CLI commands a user can type.
WaitEarn: Run Claude Code CLI runs waitearn run claude
WaitEarn: Status runs waitearn status
WaitEarn: Pause runs waitearn pause
WaitEarn: Resume runs waitearn resume
WaitEarn: Turn Off runs waitearn off
WaitEarn: Uninstall runs waitearn uninstall

Any terminal command
waitearn run <command> preserves child arguments and exit codes.
Qualification still depends on the server-owned timing and campaign rules.
Codex CLI
Exact VS Code command, packaged VSIX, help/version pass-through, and a synthetic codex exec run passed.
None for the terminal CLI path.
OpenCode
Exact VS Code command, help/version pass-through, and process launch passed.
The local provider returned an external server error before model completion.
Claude Code CLI
Exact VS Code command and actionable missing-binary behavior passed.
Install and login are pending co-founder credentials.
Native agent sidebars
Not instrumented.
Out of scope for this terminal-first extension.
Public CLI install
The Command Palette dispatches the intended npm command.
The waitearn package is published on npm as part of the WAI-143 distribution gate; a clean install depends on that publish.
Run Install CLI first if waitearn is not already available in the
integrated terminal. During this pre-release, source-built internal testers
must put waitearn on PATH before using the extension. The extension
intentionally does not inspect terminal output, editor buffers, workspace
files, prompts, shell history, or other extensions. Agent commands launch the
terminal CLIs; they do not instrument native IDE sidebars.
Package
npm run package
Install locally
npm run install:local
Publish
npm run package # local VSIX
VSCE_PAT=... npm run publish # VS Code Marketplace
OVSX_TOKEN=... npx --yes ovsx@1.1.1 publish --pat $OVSX_TOKEN # Open VSX
Publishing requires:
a VS Code Marketplace publisher named waitearn (Azure DevOps identity) and a VSCE_PAT;
an Open VSX namespace waitearn and a short-lived personal access token
(OVSX_TOKEN) limited to that namespace.
Publish order matters: waitearn must be published to npm first, because the
extension's Install CLI command runs npm install -g waitearn.
