VScode Mobile

Control your VS Code AI chat and terminal from any phone, tablet, or browser — no SSH, no VPN, no setup.

VScode Mobile is a paid extension ($3/month) that connects your VS Code editor to a secure cloud service, so you can send messages to GitHub Copilot, run terminal commands, and view chat history from any device, anywhere in the world.

Features

💬 AI Chat From Anywhere

Send messages to GitHub Copilot directly from your phone or tablet. Ask questions on your commute, get code explanations, brainstorm ideas — without sitting at your desk.

🖥️ Remote Terminal Access

Run commands on your development machine from any device. Start builds, check logs, deploy code, restart services — all from your phone.

📋 Chat History On Any Device

All your previous AI conversations are accessible from every device. Never lose an important solution you worked through with Copilot.

📱 Mobile-First Web Interface

A touch-optimised, responsive web UI that works perfectly on any screen size. No native app to install — just open vscodemobile.com in any browser.

🔒 Per-Session Connect Control

Every VS Code session must be manually connected — you always know exactly which workspace is live. Your account is always visible in the sidebar even when disconnected.

🔑 Secure Account Linking

Sign in with Google OAuth. Link each VS Code window to your account once. Revoke access to any window at any time.

Getting Started

1. Install the extension

Search VScode Mobile in the VS Code Marketplace and click Install.

2. Create an account

Click Sign In in the VScode Mobile sidebar, then sign up at vscodemobile.com using Google.

3. Link your VS Code window

Follow the on-screen steps in the sidebar to link this VS Code window to your account. This is a one-time step per machine.

4. Connect

Click Connect Current Session in the sidebar. Your account name is always shown — connection is one click away each time you open VS Code.

5. Use from any device

Open vscodemobile.com on your phone, tablet, or any browser. Send messages to Copilot, run terminal commands, and view chat history.

Sidebar Overview

The VScode Mobile sidebar panel shows:

State What you see
Signed in, not connected Account name + Connect Current Session button
Connecting Account name + "Connecting..." status
Connected Account name + "Connected · <workspace>" + Disconnect button
Not signed in Sign In button

Each VS Code window connects independently — opening a new window will show the account but start disconnected, so you always stay in control of which session is live.

All commands are available from the Command Palette (Ctrl+Shift+P):
