VSCode Shortcut Finder

Find VS Code keyboard shortcuts by describing what you want to do — no more digging through menus.

Type close all tabs → see Ctrl+K Ctrl+W → hit Enter to copy it to your clipboard. That's it.

Usage

  1. Press Ctrl+Alt+K (Cmd+Alt+K on Mac) — or run Shortcut Finder: Search Shortcuts from the Command Palette (Ctrl+Shift+P)
  2. Type a description of what you want to do — e.g. "split editor", "format", "close tab", "multi cursor"
  3. Pick a result — the shortcut is copied to your clipboard and shown in a notification

How search works

Fuzzy matching works across:

  • The shortcut description ("Close All Tabs")
  • The keybinding itself ("Ctrl+K Ctrl+W") — useful if you half-remember the keys
  • Hidden keywords and alternate phrasings ("close everything", "shut all")

Features

  • 100+ built-in shortcuts across File, Edit, View, Navigation, Debug, and Terminal categories
  • Works on Windows, Linux, and Mac
  • No internet connection required — fully offline
  • Copies shortcut to clipboard on selection
