Fubby for Visual Studio Code
Language support for Fubby .fab files.
Features
- Syntax highlighting, with bracket matching, comment toggling, and auto-indent.
- Live errors as you type, listed in the Problems panel.
- Deeper errors when a file opens or saves: undefined names, wrong argument counts, type mismatches, and missing imports.
- Format Document using Fubby's own formatter.
- Completions and hover for built-in functions,
moon, snow, bela, and your own code.
- Snippets such as
main, func, class, for, match, try, test, and route.
- Outline and Go to Definition, including across imports.
- Run button in the editor title bar. Snow apps run with
fubby snow serve.
Run these from the Command Palette: Fubby: Run File, Check Syntax, Test File, Test Folder, Serve with Snow, and Install Packages.
Requirements
Errors, formatting, and the run commands need the fubby program, which is a separate download from the Fubby releases page. It is currently available for Intel macOS only.
The plugin looks for fubby on your PATH, then in ~/.local/bin. To use another location, set fubby.executablePath.
Without fubby, highlighting, snippets, completions, and the outline still work.
Limits
- While you type, checking covers syntax and style. Undefined names and type mistakes appear when the file opens or saves, and need a current
fubby build.
- There is no step-through debugger.
fubby shady debug prints a trace.
- In an untrusted workspace, the plugin doesn't start the
fubby program.
- Fubby is a developer preview. Don't run
.fab programs you don't trust.
