A VSCode extension for Personal Knowledge Management using hierarchical Markdown notes. Local-first and built for scale with a multi-threaded Kotlin server handling core logic.

Key Features

Powerful Search with Temporal Filtering

Search across all your notes, including content, titles, and metadata. Filter results by:

• Visit History - Find notes you've recently visited (1 hour, today, this week, etc.)
• Update Time - Find notes updated within a time range
• Hierarchy - Search within a subtree of your current note

Hierarchical Organization

Organize notes using dot-delimited hierarchies that create logical parent-child relationships:

Your Data, Your Control

• Local-first: All note data is stored locally. We do not have access to your notes.
• Transparent Data Model: Full access to 100% of raw data in open, human-readable formats.
• No Vendor Lock-in: Standard markdown files with YAML frontmatter.

Dendron Compatible

Works with existing Dendron notes and workspaces.

Requirements

• A few hundred megabytes of RAM for the Thorg Server (JVM-based, default 1GB max heap, can be lowered)
• Successfully tested with 10,000 note workspace on 512MB heap
