What it does
A shared thread. Your team is a set of participants that talk to each other on one thread:
one implements, another reviews, and each turn answers the last. You give each one a role in
plain words.
Failover across providers. When a provider reports a usage limit, the next turn goes to a
teammate whose provider is free, or to the next entry in that participant's failover list. When
every provider is limited, AutoDev sleeps until the nearest reset and carries on by itself.
It survives everything. The run lives apart from the editor: close VS Code and it keeps
going. After a reboot, send a message from the panel and it picks up from the last completed turn.
Check in from anywhere. Turn on remote access, pair your phone with a short code, and read
the same feed you would see at your desk — answer the question the run is holding on, approve a
gate, redirect it at 3am.
What you need
Windows and VS Code 1.90 or newer.
At least one agent CLI installed and signed in: claude, codex or agy. AutoDev never
handles your credentials; it runs the CLI you already use.
cloudflared, only if you want to check in from your phone.
Get started
Open a project folder and select the AutoDev icon in the activity bar. A short tour of the
panel starts the first time.
Set up your team once — a starter template is one click. That is also how you give AutoDev
permission to work in that folder.
