StateSyncThis extension needs the StateSync desktop app (Windows, macOS, Linux) running on the same machine. StateSync runs the coding agents you already use, such as Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode, in fewer steps, so the same work costs less. StateSync inside VS Code: the app's chat and terminal, in a panel in the secondary side bar. A chat here is an ordinary StateSync chat (it is in the app's sidebar too, and any chat for this folder can be opened here); a terminal here is the same StateSync terminal the app's panel provisions, so agent CLIs started in it get the same StateSync wiring. What the terminal wiring is depends on the CLI. Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot CLI, OpenCode, Pi and Grok get StateSync's tools. RequirementsVS Code 1.106 or newer, for the secondary side bar panel this extension uses. The StateSync desktop app must be running and signed in. This extension holds no account, no token and no credential of its own: the app provisions every terminal and chat and decides what it may do. Install it from the extension marketplace, or from StateSync: Settings > General > StateSync terminal in your editor. Use
The panel is the StateSync app's own interface, served by the running app, so it looks
and behaves as the app does and follows the app's appearance settings. A terminal opened
in the panel runs in the app and is drawn in the panel; When things are off
What it sends whereNothing leaves the computer. The extension talks to the running app over a loopback port with a per-run secret, both published by the app in its own data directory. |
