smartcode - VS Code Extension

Overview

This VS Code extension provides code optimization and better code suggestions to improve your coding efficiency. Follow the instructions below to install and configure the extension.

Installation

1. Download and Install Node.js

   • Visit Node.js and download the latest version.
   • Follow the installation instructions for your operating system.

2. Install the Extension

   • Open VS Code.
   • Go to the Extensions view by clicking on the Extensions icon in the Activity Bar on the side of the window or pressing Ctrl+Shift+X.
   • Search for smart-code.
   • Click Install to install the extension.

Configuration and Usage

1. Optimize Code and Cutomized User Prompt*
   • Select code for optimize code or write prompt with comment prefix "smart_code::"
   • Press Ctrl+Shift+p to open the command palette and write command "Optimize Code" or Press Ctrl+Alt+p.
   • if you just install extension then provide GEMINI_API_KEY or CHATGPT_API_KEY in prompt else extension run on saved key.

Commands

• extension.optimizeCode: Optimizes the current code in the editor.
