Rippledit

Rippledit calculates the real-time "blast radius" of editing React components directly inside VS Code before you break production.

Features

  • Component Blast Radius Detection: Automatically scans your workspace AST to track where exported components are imported and instantiated.
  • Interactive CodeLens Badges: Displays interactive badges (⚡ Modifying this component affects X places) directly above component declarations.
  • One-Click Navigation: Click any badge to open a QuickPick menu listing exact target files and line numbers, and jump straight to the JSX usage.

Supported File Types

  • TypeScript React (.tsx)
  • JavaScript React (.jsx)

How to Use

  1. Open any workspace containing React components written in .tsx or .jsx.
  2. Open a file with exported components.
  3. Observe the ⚡ Modifying this component affects... badge rendered directly above the component function.
  4. Click the badge to open the location dropdown and jump to any usage line.
