ShappeTrack in your editor: every ShappeTrack repo in the folder, a history graph that shows what
the team pushed, one-button sync, and Team Chat. It runs on real git and follows your
VS Code, Cursor or Theia theme.
Features
Every repo in the folder. Finds .shappetrack/config.json and any git repo with a remote on
ShappeTrack, down to shappe.track.scanMaxDepth folders. The panel follows the file you're
editing, and a repo switcher sits in the panel header and the status bar
($(repo) name · branch ↓2 ↑1). Repos found only through their remote can be linked in one click.
Changes. Commit & Push (commits everything when nothing is staged), stage, unstage and discard
per file, diffs on click.
Stays in sync. Fetches every 3 minutes while the window is focused, on window focus, and as
soon as ShappeTrack announces a push. Sync pulls (rebase or merge, shappe.track.pullMode)
and then pushes, or publishes a new branch. Conflicts pause with Continue / Abort and open the
merge editor.
History graph. All branches or this branch, with lanes, branch, remote and tag labels.
Incoming and Not pushed groups come first. Expand a commit for its files with +/− counts,
open each diff, copy the hash or view it on ShappeTrack.
Team Chat per repo. Live messages, @mentions (highlighted, with a notification), unread
badge on the activity bar. A dropped connection stays quiet for 5 s, then shows "Catching up".
Messages you send while offline wait in the list and go out in order. Missed messages fill in.
Security
Git authenticates per command: the token goes only to the git child process environment, with an
inline credential helper. The extension never edits your git config and never writes
~/.git-credentials. Sign out asks your own credential helpers to forget the ShappeTrack host and
revokes the token Shappe created in the browser (pasted and CLI tokens keep working).
Signing in
One Shappe account covers ShappeTrack and ShappeScope. It lives in the editor's Accounts menu
(bottom left) and comes from the Shappe Account extension, which installs automatically.
Signing out there signs out of both. If you use the shapetrack CLI, its saved sign-in is
picked up automatically.
