Drag files out of VS Code as real files, not .url shortcuts.
By default, dragging from the VS Code Explorer into a browser upload box or another app can give you a .url link instead of the actual file. This extension fixes that: right-click, drag, and the real file (or many files, as CF_HDROP) lands where you drop it. Windows only.
Use
Select one or more files in the Explorer.
Right-click → No URL File Drag: Drag Out.
A small tray opens next to your mouse listing every selected item. Press on any row and drag: all items are dragged together.
The tray stays open until you drop, press Esc, or click ×. Cancel a drag and it stays so you can retry. Drag its title bar to move it. Mouse wheel scrolls long lists.
Drops are copy/link only, so dropping onto Explorer never moves or deletes your originals.
