Image to Claude

Paste clipboard images directly into Claude Code with a single shortcut.

Press Ctrl+Shift+V (or Cmd+Shift+V on Mac) with a screenshot in your clipboard → image is saved to .claude/screenshots/ and delivered to Claude Code automatically.

How it works

  1. Take a screenshot (Win+Shift+S, Snipping Tool, etc.)
  2. Switch to VS Code
  3. Press Ctrl+Shift+V
  4. Done — image goes to Claude Code (terminal or panel, auto-detected)

Modes

Mode Behavior
auto (default) Detects Claude Code terminal → sends path; otherwise injects into panel
terminal Sends file path to the Claude Code terminal
inject Restores image to clipboard + Ctrl+V into Claude Code panel
clipboard Copies file path to clipboard only

Settings

imageToClaude.insertMethod auto Delivery mode (see above)
