Usage

Quick Access

  • Press Cmd+Shift+V (Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+V (Windows/Linux) to open the clipboard history picker
  • Search for any previously copied text
  • Press Enter to paste

Sidebar

  • Click the Clipboard icon in the Activity Bar
  • Right-click items for options:
    • Paste
    • Copy to Clipboard
    • Pin/Unpin
    • Delete

Commands

Search for "Clipboard History" in the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P) to access all features.

Extension Settings

  • clipboardHistory.maxItems: Maximum number of items to keep (default: 200)
  • clipboardHistory.deduplicationMode: How to handle duplicates (off, exact, normalized)
  • clipboardHistory.ignorePatterns: Regex patterns to exclude from history
  • clipboardHistory.excludedFilePatterns: File patterns to exclude (e.g., .env files)

Privacy

All clipboard data is stored locally in VS Code's storage. No data is sent to external servers.
