Installation
- Open Extensions in VS Code (
Ctrl+Shift+X).
- Search for Janartau.
- Click Install.
- Select the theme using
Ctrl+K Ctrl+T and choosing Janartau.

Obsidian themes
This repository also includes the Obsidian versions of Janartau and Janartau Black. Copy the desired folder into your vault’s .obsidian/themes/ directory, then select it under Settings → Appearance → Themes.
The VS Code extension includes all three variants and the Janartau icon theme.

Black borrows the warm neutral text and subtly raised popup surfaces from the Obsidian Black theme. All variants preserve Janartau’s code syntax colors and semantic highlighting. Half-Black keeps the entire tab strip, Explorer header, activity bar, and content surfaces in original Janartau midnight. Only its title/menu bar is true black (#000000), matching the configured Hyprland Waybar background. All other colors, including the status bar, empty editor, and panel separators, are identical to original Janartau.
These are color themes; they do not add rounded corners or gaps to VS Code’s layout. Native operating-system title bars are controlled by the OS; use window.titleBarStyle: "custom" if you want VS Code to color the top bar.
To try the local build, run vsce package --no-dependencies, then use Extensions → … → Install from VSIX… and select janartau-0.0.9.vsix. Open Preferences: Color Theme and choose a variant. For development, open this project in VS Code and press F5 to preview in an Extension Development Host.
