See the work assigned to you, and keep it up to date, without leaving the editor.
Ovillo is a work management platform for startups and
scaleups: goals, initiatives, tasks, tracking and reporting in one place. This
extension brings the part that concerns you as a developer into VS Code — your
tasks, their status, and the link between a branch or a pull request and the
task it belongs to.
You need an Ovillo account. The extension is a client; it doesn't work on
its own.
Setup
In Ovillo, go to Settings → Connections → Personal access token and
generate one.
In VS Code, run Ovillo: Set Access Token from the Command Palette
(⇧⌘P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and paste it.
Open the Ovillo view in the Activity Bar. Your assigned tasks appear
there.
The token acts as you and is limited to the spaces you can already access.
Revoking it in Ovillo never affects your web session.
What you can do
See your tasks in the sidebar, search them, and open any one for detail.
Create a quick task for work that isn't on the board yet.
Set an active task — it shows in the status bar and stays set per
workspace, so switching projects doesn't lose it.
Link the current branch to the active task. This is what ties your code
to the work: your branch name is never parsed, so no naming convention is
imposed on the team and nothing changes about how you commit or open pull
requests.
Report a pull request for a task, and change a task's status from the
editor.
