A charming, autonomous pixel-art cat companion that petters around your code lines, hunts errors, and keeps you company while you code.
✨ Features
Your focus is sacred. Unlike traditional annoying popups or jumpy extensions, Pettering Around strictly respects your editor:
- Zero unwanted scrolling: The cat stays anchored to where you are actively working (
targetUserLine).
- Smooth sub-character traversal: Walks seamlessly across indentation and code text without disrupting your layout or code formatting.
🎨 2. Four Unique Breeds & Coats
Switch your companion's coat on the fly directly from the customization panel:
- 🟠 Ginger: The cheerful, curious orange tabby.
- 🎩 Tuxedo: A distinguished black cat with a white chest and mittens.
- 🎨 Calico: A sweet, lucky tricolor patchwork kitty.
- 🌑 Midnight: A sleek, mysterious obsidian black cat with amber eyes.
🐛 3. Bug Hunter (Error Scratching)
Got a syntax error or a broken type? Your pet will notice!
- Eagerly trots to visible red squiggly lines and scratches them with rapid paw strikes (
bat0/bat1).
- An unobtrusive status bar alert directs you to off-screen errors with a single click.
🎛️ 4. Activity Bar Control Center
Click the cat paw icon on the left Activity Bar to customize:
- Live Status: Check if your pet is walking, sitting, loafing, or sleeping, and toggle snooze anytime with the 💤 Uyut / Uyandır button.
- Energy Level Slider: Tune playfulness from sleepy (
0.1) to energetic (1.0).
- Pet Naming: Give your companion a custom name displayed across tooltips and notifications.
- Bug Hunter Toggle: Enable or disable error scratching with one toggle.
💤 5. Natural Pet Behaviors
When you're coding, your pet displays a full range of lifelike idle animations:

🚀 Getting Started
- Install Pettering Around from the VS Code Marketplace.
- Open any code file — your pet will immediately spawn and start exploring!
- Click the Pettering Around paw icon in the Activity Bar to customize your cat.
