NLTS PM for VS Code

Your NLTS PM tasks, issues and reviews inside VS Code: start work, link commits and submit for review without leaving the editor.

Requirements

An NLTS PM server and an account on it (ask your administrator).

Connect

The recommended way is from the web app:

  1. In NLTS PM open Profile → Connections → Connect VS Code.
  2. Your browser asks you to approve the connection.
  3. VS Code opens and asks you to confirm the server address — check it and choose Connect.

You can also set the address from VS Code:

  • Command Palette → NLTS: Set Server Address, or
  • click Enter server address in the NLTS sidebar.

The address must be https://… (a http://localhost address is accepted for local development only). The extension never connects to a server on its own: it always asks first.

Features

  • My Projects — the projects that have work waiting for you, in Auto (follows your current git branch) or Pinned mode.
  • My Tasks & Issues — your open work, grouped by urgency: To fix · Rework · In progress · To do · In review · Retest.
  • Start work — start a task without leaving the editor.
  • Create branch / check out branch / link branch — work with the task's branch straight from the task row.
  • Submit for review / submit fixes — a pre-flight checklist tells you what is still missing (on branch, pushed, committed, has commits).
  • Ready-to-submit indicators — task descriptions show ✓ ready or the first blocker.
  • Task and issue details — a detail panel with the description, checklist, activity and the actions for that item.
  • Post an update — add a status update to a task without leaving VS Code.
  • Notifications — task and issue updates can raise a toast (see the settings).
  • Search — search NLTS from the Command Palette.

Settings

Setting What it does
nlts.serverUrl The address of your NLTS PM server. It is set for you when you connect; you rarely need to change it.
nlts.frontendUrl Only when the web app runs on a different address than the server (development). Leave it empty otherwise.
nlts.notifications How much is announced: all, important or off.
nlts.refreshMinutes How often the sidebar refreshes (1–60 minutes).

Privacy

The extension talks only to the server you configure. Your sign-in token is stored in VS Code's secure storage, and it is bound to that server: switching servers signs you out of the old one.

Troubleshooting

  • "Connect NLTS PM to your server" — no server address yet. Use Enter server address in the sidebar, or NLTS: Set Server Address in the Command Palette.
  • The connection request was rejected — the address in the confirmation dialog was not the one you expected. Close it and start again from the web app.
  • Session expired — your token expired or was revoked. Click the Connect prompt in the notification or the status bar to sign in again.
  • Can't reach NLTS — check that the server address is correct and that you can open it in a browser. If your company uses a private address, it may only be reachable on the company network or VPN.
  • Revoking access — in the web app, open Profile → Connections to see the connected devices and revoke access.
