N32Studio

简体中文

N32Studio is an AI-assisted development extension for Nationstech N32 MCUs. It brings Claude Code, N32Cube configuration, code generation, build, flash, and debug into one project workflow so you can develop embedded applications with natural-language collaboration.

Currently supported: Windows x64 and the N32H49 MCU series. macOS, Linux, VS Code for the Web, and other N32 series are not supported yet.

Requirements

  • Windows x64
  • VS Code 1.85 or later
  • N32H49 MCU project

What you can do

  • Open N32Cube to configure the MCU, clocks, pins, and peripherals.
  • Build, clean, flash, and debug N32 projects from VS Code.
  • Work with Claude Code using natural language for MCU configuration, code generation, and troubleshooting.
  • Submit issue reports with project context.

Quick start

  1. Install this extension from the Marketplace in Windows x64 VS Code.
  2. If the N32Studio view shows Install N32Studio Development Environment, select it and confirm the installation. The same view can launch the desktop app afterwards.
  3. Create a project in the N32Studio desktop app, or import an existing VS Code project, then select Open Project.
  4. Select N32Cube in the VS Code status bar to configure hardware and generate code.
  5. After code generation, use Build, Flash, and Debug to validate the project.

Opening projects from N32Studio Project Management is recommended for the complete workflow.

AI-assisted development

N32Studio connects Claude Code with N32Cube. Describe the desired behavior directly and let AI assist with hardware configuration, initialization code, application code, error analysis, and project refinement.

After signing in to NSING AI and configuring Claude Code, try requests such as:

  • “Configure USART1 at 115200 baud.”
  • “LEDs are connected to PA3, PB3, and PA8. Create a running-light effect.”
  • “Configure a timer that interrupts once every second.”

Review AI changes before building, flashing, and debugging.

NSING AI usage

The NSING AI usage entry appears in the status bar only when the active workspace is an N32Studio project, NSING AI is signed in, and Claude Code is using NSING AI. Hover for a summary and select it to refresh.

Issue reporting

In an N32Studio project, use the status-bar Report action or run N32Studio: Report Issue from the Command Palette.
