Miloop

Presence for teams, built into the work.

Miloop connects VS Code to the Miloop desktop app so teammates can see when they're working in the same codebase.

What it does

  • Lets Miloop know which Git repository is currently in front of you.
  • Lets Miloop know whether this VS Code window is focused.
  • Connects automatically to the Miloop app running on this Mac.
  • Shows its connection status in the VS Code status bar.

If several repositories are open in one VS Code window, Miloop does not guess which one you're working in.

Privacy

The Miloop VS Code extension:

  • does not read your files or source code;
  • does not read or report your current file or branch;
  • does not sign you in;
  • never receives your Miloop session token.

It reports only the repository identity and whether the VS Code window is focused.

Getting started

Requires VS Code 1.101 or later and the Miloop app for Mac.

  1. Install and open Miloop on your Mac.
  2. Install this extension, or in Miloop choose Add to VS Code.
  3. Open a Git repository in VS Code.

The extension connects automatically. Normal use requires no port configuration.

If Miloop is not running, the VS Code status bar says that Miloop is not connected.
