DixScript (.mdix) for VS Code
Full IDE support for DixScript .mdix files, powered by mdix-lsp.
Features
- Syntax highlighting for all DixScript sections (
@CONFIG, @IMPORTS, @DLM, @ENUMS, @QUICKFUNCS, @DATA, @SECURITY)
- Hover documentation for sections, keywords, types, and built-in functions
- Completions and signature help for QuickFuncs, enums, and imported namespaces
- Go-to-definition, find references, and rename
- Real-time diagnostics from the DixScript compiler pipeline
- Inlay type hints and parameter hints
- Code actions / quick fixes (insert
@SECURITY, replace weak xor, etc.)
- Code lens for compile, convert to JSON/TOML, minify, and resolve
- Inline hex color picker (native VS Code color swatches + picker on every
#RRGGBB/#RGB literal)
- 📅 Inline date/time picker — click the lens above any
Date/Timestamp literal to edit it with a native date/datetime picker
- ▶ Blob preview — click the lens above any
b:(...) literal to preview it as an image, audio, video, text, or hex dump, based on sniffed content
- 🎨 Theme color sync —
Apply Theme Colors reads a dark:/light: color table from a .mdix file (see -_-master_colors.mdix) and writes it into editor.semanticTokenColorCustomizations, scoped to your active theme
- ⚙ Bulk settings apply —
Apply Settings reads a settings: table from a .mdix file (see -_-master_settings.mdix) and applies a curated set of editor/DixScript settings in one shot
- Document formatting and folding
Settings
| Setting |

Samples
The samples/ folder ships with the extension — open any of them to see DixScript in action:
| File |
Shows off |
hello.mdix |
Core literal types — strings, numbers, booleans, arrays, hex colors, dates, timestamps. Hover the hex colors and dates to try the inline color picker and 📅 date picker. |
regex-and-blob.mdix |
Regex pattern validation in @DATA (try breaking the pattern — it'll flag it), plus a b:(...) blob you can preview with the ▶ lens. |
-_-master_colors.mdix and -_-master_settings.mdix at the repo root aren't samples to read — they're the live files Apply Theme Colors / Apply Settings act on. Edit those, don't copy them into samples/.
