JSONC to JSON Converter
A simple VS Code extension that converts JSONC (JSON with Comments) files to clean JSON format.
Features
- Remove single-line comments (
// comment)
- Remove multi-line comments (
/* comment */)
- Remove trailing commas
- Preserve JSON structure and formatting
- Save as new
.json file in the same folder
Usage
- Open a
.jsonc or .json file
- Open Command Palette (
Ctrl+Shift+P)
- Type "Convert JSONC to JSON" and run the command
- A new
.json file will be created in the same folder
Example
Input (JSONC):

"age": 30, // Trailing comma

Output (JSON):

Requirements
VS Code 1.60.0 or higher

This extension doesn't add any settings.
