This is an independent, personal project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic, OpenAI or TypeSafe AI. "Claude Code" and "Codex" are used only to name the CLI tools this extension works with.

English

AI Agents Orchestra runs Claude Code and Codex together from one chat view in VS Code. The two AIs discuss the approach, then one does the work and the other reviews it, sending it back until it is approved. When they cannot agree, TypeSafe AI's judge model Jev can decide (optional).

Requirements

• The Claude Code CLI (claude) and the Codex CLI (codex)
  • If they are missing, a banner above the input box shows how to install them:
    • npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code
    • npm install -g @openai/codex
  • If you are not logged in, use Log in in the same banner to log in with your browser
• A working folder that is a git repository (used for diffs and undo)
• A Jev API key (optional). Without it, the extension asks you whenever a decision is needed

Getting started

Install the extension, then open it with the Open AI Agents Orchestra button at the top right of the editor, or from the AI Agents Orchestra tab in the secondary side bar.

How to use

• Recipient (bottom left of the input box)
  • Team: run it as a task — debate → work → review → send back
  • Claude Code / Codex: ask that AI directly (read-only)
• Mode (icons at the bottom right): Plan → Work (default), Plan only, Work only
  • In Plan → Work, you are asked whether to start the work once the plan is approved
• Questions from the AI: when something can only be decided by a person (a choice in the spec, a preference…), the AI stops and shows a question card. Pick an option or write your answer
• Step in at any time: while the AIs are running, anything you type goes to the next AI as a top-priority instruction. ⏸ pauses, ■ stops
• Attachments: @ for files, ＋ for the selection or images. You can paste or drop images, and send an image without any text
• Undo: "Undo this attempt" on a diff card, "Undo this task's changes" when a task ends
• Records: decision records go to docs/decisions/, approved plans to docs/plans/ (configurable)
• History: open past conversations from 🕘 in the header. A task that stopped halfway can be resumed

Settings

• From ⚙ in the header, open the VS Code settings, the team settings (.ai_agents_orchestra/config.yaml) or your personal settings (config.local.yaml)
• Priority (later wins): defaults → VS Code user settings → workspace settings → config.yaml → config.local.yaml → switches in the chat view
• Register the Jev API key from ⚙ → Register Jev API key (stored in VS Code's secret storage). The TYPESAFE_API_KEY environment variable, if set, takes precedence

Languages

The UI, notifications and decision records are available in 10 languages. aiAgentsOrchestra.language = auto (default) follows the VS Code display language.

English, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Korean, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian

• Instructions to the AI are in Japanese for Japanese and in English otherwise. The AI replies in the language of your task
• Translations other than English and Japanese were made with AI. Please report anything that reads oddly

Data and costs

• Your tasks, the files the AIs read, and their output are sent to Anthropic and OpenAI through the Claude Code and Codex CLIs, under your own accounts and plans. Usage counts toward your own subscriptions or API billing
• If Jev is enabled, the task text and the debate are sent to TypeSafe AI (api.typesafe.ai) to get a judgment
• This extension has no server of its own and collects no telemetry. Conversation history is stored locally in VS Code's workspace storage

Known limitations

• Undo works only while the conversation is open. After reopening VS Code or opening a conversation from history, earlier tasks cannot be undone
• Only one chat can run the AIs at a time (the editor tab and the side bar can both be open, but while one is running the other cannot send)
• Claude Code's thinking summaries may appear in English (they come from the CLI)

Claude Code と Codex を、VSCode のチャット画面から一緒に動かす拡張機能です。 2体の AI が方針を議論し、片方が作業、もう片方がレビューします。合意できないときは、TypeSafe AI の判定モデル「Jev」が決めることもできます（任意）。

個人の拡張機能です。Anthropic・OpenAI・TypeSafe AI とは関係がなく、公認や支援も受けていません。「Claude Code」「Codex」は、一緒に使う CLI の名前として書いています。

使う前に必要なもの

• Claude Code の CLI（claude）と Codex の CLI（codex）
  • 入っていなければ、チャット画面の入力欄の上に、入れ方の案内が出ます
    • npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code
    • npm install -g @openai/codex
  • ログインしていなければ、同じ場所の［ログイン］からブラウザでログインできます
• git のリポジトリになっている作業フォルダ（変更の差分と、巻き戻しに使います）
• Jev の API キー（任意）。なければ Jev なしで進み、判断が要るときはユーザーに聞きます

はじめ方

拡張機能を入れたら、エディタ右上の「AI Agents Orchestra を開く」ボタン、または右の欄の AI Agents Orchestra のタブで開きます。

使い方

• 宛先（入力欄の下の左）
  • チーム：課題として、議論 → 作業 → レビュー → 差し戻しの流れで進めます
  • Claude Code ／ Codex：その AI に読み取り専用で直接質問します
• 進め方（入力欄の右下のアイコン）：計画→作業（既定）・計画のみ・作業のみ
  • 計画→作業では、計画が承認されたところで、作業に進むかを聞きます
• AI からの質問：仕様や好みなど人でないと決められないことがあると、AI が止めて質問のカードを出します。選択肢を選ぶか、自由に書いて答えます
• 途中で口をはさむ：AI が動いている間も入力欄に書くと、次に話す AI に最優先の指示として渡します。⏸ で一時停止、■ で中断します
• 添付：@ でファイル、＋ で選択範囲や画像。画像は貼り付け・ドロップでも添付でき、文なしで画像だけでも送れます
• 元に戻す：差分カードの「この回の変更を元に戻す」、課題の完了の「この課題の変更を元に戻す」
• 記録：決定記録は docs/decisions/、承認された計画書は docs/plans/ に残ります（設定で変えられます）
• 履歴：ヘッダーの 🕘 から前の会話を開けます。途中で止まった課題は、続きから再開できます

設定

• ヘッダーの ⚙ から、VSCode の設定・チーム共有の設定（.ai_agents_orchestra/config.yaml）・個人用の設定（config.local.yaml）を開けます
• 優先順位（下ほど優先）：既定 → VSCode のユーザー設定 → ワークスペース設定 → config.yaml → config.local.yaml → チャット画面での切り替え
• Jev の API キーは、⚙ の「Jev の API キーを登録」から登録します（VSCode の秘密の保管庫に保存）。環境変数 TYPESAFE_API_KEY があれば、そちらが優先されます

言語

画面・通知・決定記録は、次の 10 の言語で出せます。設定 aiAgentsOrchestra.language の auto（既定）は、VSCode の表示言語に合わせます。

日本語・英語・中国語（簡体字）・中国語（繁体字）・韓国語・ドイツ語・フランス語・スペイン語・ポルトガル語（ブラジル）・ロシア語

• AI への指示文は、日本語なら日本語、ほかの言語では英語です。AI は課題文と同じ言語で返答します
• 日本語と英語以外の訳は AI によるものです。おかしな訳があれば教えてください

データと費用

• 課題・AI が読んだファイル・AI の出力は、Claude Code と Codex の CLI を通して、あなたのアカウントとプランで Anthropic と OpenAI に送られます。使った分は、あなたの契約や API の料金になります
• Jev を使う場合は、判定のために課題文と議論の内容を TypeSafe AI（api.typesafe.ai）に送ります
• この拡張機能は自前のサーバーを持たず、利用状況の送信（テレメトリ）もしません。会話の履歴は VSCode のワークスペースの保存領域（手元）に置きます

今の制限

• 「元に戻す」は、その会話を開いている間だけ使えます。VSCode を開き直したり履歴から開いたりした会話の、前の課題は戻せません
• AI を動かすのは一度に1つのチャットだけです（エディタのタブと右の欄を同時に開いていても、片方が動いている間はもう片方から送れません）
• Claude Code の思考の要約は英語で出ることがあります（CLI が出す要約のため）
