Open in Windows Terminal
Open any folder in Windows Terminal (PowerShell) directly from the VS Code Explorer context menu — one click, no typing.
Features
- Right-click any folder in the Explorer sidebar and select "Open in Windows Terminal"
- Launches Windows Terminal and navigates (
cd) directly into the selected folder
- Falls back to a standalone PowerShell window if Windows Terminal is not installed
Usage
- Right-click a folder in the VS Code Explorer
- Click "Open in Windows Terminal"
- A Windows Terminal tab opens, already positioned in that folder
Requirements
- Windows operating system
- Windows Terminal (recommended) or Windows PowerShell (built-in fallback)
Extension Settings
This extension has no configurable settings.
Known Issues
- macOS and Linux are not supported — this extension is Windows-only by design.
