Installation
Launch VS Code Quick Open (Ctrl+P), paste the following command, and press enter.

Open in Windows Terminal

Open any folder in Windows Terminal (PowerShell) directly from the VS Code Explorer context menu — one click, no typing.


Features

  • Right-click any folder in the Explorer sidebar and select "Open in Windows Terminal"
  • Launches Windows Terminal and navigates (cd) directly into the selected folder
  • Falls back to a standalone PowerShell window if Windows Terminal is not installed

Usage

  1. Right-click a folder in the VS Code Explorer
  2. Click "Open in Windows Terminal"
  3. A Windows Terminal tab opens, already positioned in that folder

Requirements

  • Windows operating system
  • Windows Terminal (recommended) or Windows PowerShell (built-in fallback)

Extension Settings

This extension has no configurable settings.


Known Issues

  • macOS and Linux are not supported — this extension is Windows-only by design.
