Weft — a Scrumban board your AI drives

Install this extension and agent mode gains a board. Ask for work to be captured, moved or closed in plain language, and it lands on a real board you can open on the web or your phone — one that outlives the chat session.

Weft is a hosted service. There is nothing to install or run locally: the extension registers one remote MCP server, and VS Code signs you in with OAuth the first time a tool is used. No API key to paste.

Getting started

1. Install the extension.
2. Open Chat, switch to Agent mode, and ask something like “what's on my Weft board?”
3. A browser window opens once, to sign in to Weft. A free account takes a minute and comes with 50 tasks.

• “Turn every TODO in this diff into tasks.”
• “Start a one-week sprint focused on the landing redesign.”

Why a board, and not a to-do list with an API

Three of Weft's tools exist because an agent is not a person with a memory of yesterday:

• start_task claims a card with a lease, so two agents — or two windows — never take the same work.
• report_progress renews that claim. An agent that dies mid-run cannot report anything, and silence is the only signal a board can trust.
• complete_task takes a receipt: artifacts you can check, and what was explicitly not done. When a card carries machine-checkable verification, the server re-runs those checks before it moves to Done.

And when a decision is genuinely yours, the agent asks instead of guessing: the question waits in your Inbox, on the web or the phone app, and the answer returns to whichever client asked.

The same board everywhere

The endpoint is https://letsweft.com/api/mcp. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, JetBrains and a few dozen other clients connect to the very same board — setup for each is at letsweft.com/integrations.

Privacy

Your board is private. Every session is scoped to your account through OAuth, and tokens are issued per client; you can revoke any of them from settings. Tasks created by an AI carry creator attribution, so the board always shows who — or what — added each card.
