Example Hub

Example Hub adds an Example Hub view to the VS Code Explorer. Select an example directory and use the Explorer context menu command Example Hub: Show Matching Examples. The extension scans the configured workspace roots for directories with the same name, groups them by their immediate chip directory, and lets you expand or open their contents.

Typical layout

hc32_ddl/
└─ project/
   ├─ hc32f460/
   │ └─ gpio/blink/
   └─ hc32f4a0/
      └─ gpio/blink/

With blink selected, both hc32f460 and hc32f4a0 are shown in the Example Hub view.

Development

Open this extension folder in VS Code and press F5. The included .vscode/launch.json starts an Extension Development Host window with Example Hub loaded.

Settings

  • exampleHub.searchRoots: workspace-relative roots to scan. Defaults to ["project"]. Set to [] to scan the entire workspace.
  • exampleHub.maxDepth: maximum depth below each search root (default 32).
  • exampleHub.ignore: directory names skipped during scanning.

The extension does not copy or move files; it only presents the matching folders in a separate Explorer tree.
