Tamil AI coding assistant for VS Code: chat and an agent that reads, edits and runs your code, using Claude, GPT, Gemini and Grok models through Tamil AI.
Installation
Launch VS Code Quick Open (Ctrl+P), paste the following command, and press enter.
A coding agent for VS Code that runs on Tamil AI models (Claude, GPT, Gemini, Grok and others your plan allows).
Tcode tab in the chat sidebar: Tcode sits in the right-hand Secondary Side Bar, next to Copilot Chat and Claude Code (VS Code 1.106+). Open it with Ctrl+Alt+T / Cmd+Alt+T, the status-bar item, or Tcode: Open.
Modes (picker under the chat box):
Agent: describe a change and Tcode lists, searches and reads files, edits them, runs commands (build, tests) and checks VS Code's problems until the task is done. Command output is shown under each step.
Plan: Tcode only reads and investigates, then writes a numbered plan. Press Execute plan to let Agent carry it out.
Ask: streaming answers only, nothing changes. Tick File to send the open file or your selection.
Permissions (second picker, or the tcode.permissions setting):
Ask every time: approve each edit (shown as a diff) and each command.
Smart approvals (default): file edits are applied and read-only commands (ls, cat, grep, git status, dnf check-update…) run by themselves; commands that change the system (dnf update, rm, npm install, git push…) ask first.
Allow all: never asks. Use with care.
Approvals appear inside the panel with Run / Allow all … in this chat / Skip. After a request that changed files, Undo all puts them back.
Code blocks: Copy, Insert (at the cursor), and Apply (with a diff) for blocks labelled with a file path.
