Data & privacy

C2P is built for companies that give their developers AI models and API keys, so it reports how those models are used — not what you write with them.

Never leaves your editor through C2P

• Your code, files, prompts, chat history and the models' answers.
• Your API keys — they stay in VS Code's encrypted secret storage. Requests go straight from your editor to the AI provider you choose.
• Files with secrets (such as .env) are never read without your approval.

Team usage reports, sent to your team's C2P server:

• Editor active and idle time, number of prompts sent, tokens used per AI provider and model, and the open project folder's name.
• Linked to your work account, so your team's managers can see adoption and the cost of the company's API keys per developer, project and model.
• Not sold, not shared with third parties, not used for advertising.

You're in control

• C2P follows VS Code's telemetry setting: with telemetry.telemetryLevel off, no reports are sent.
• You can also turn off just C2P's reports with the C2P › Team Usage Reporting setting.
• The exact list of what's sent ships with the extension (telemetry.json; run code --telemetry to see it).

Get started

1. Open the C2P panel from the Activity Bar.
2. Link your account with your work email or your team's join code. C2P works with a team account on code2pulse.com.
3. Add an API key in Settings → Models, and start chatting.
