LUMIS Kanban is a Kanban board for programmers in Laguna University's Management Information System Office. It runs inside Visual Studio Code and keeps board data with the open workspace.
Features
Organize work with the default To Do, In Progress, and Done lists, and add or rename lists as needed.
Create, edit, remove, and drag cards between lists or reorder them within a list.
Add start and end dates to cards.
Search card titles across the board.
Generate a semi-monthly accomplishment report as a Word document (.docx) from completed cards.
Save board data in the workspace, so it remains available when you reopen the project.
Getting Started
Open a project folder in VS Code. LUMIS Kanban needs a workspace folder to store its board.
Open the Command Palette (Ctrl+Shift+P on Windows/Linux or Cmd+Shift+P on macOS).
Run LUMIS Kanban: Open. You can also open LUMIS Kanban from the Activity Bar and select Open Board.
Add cards, assign dates, and drag cards to update their status. Changes are saved automatically.
To generate a report, select Generate AR on the board and choose a reporting period. The report includes cards in a list named Done with a completion date in that period. The extension saves the document in .lumis-kanban/accomplishment-reports/ inside the workspace. A report is not created when the selected period has no matching cards.
Requirements
Visual Studio Code 1.140.0 or later.
An open workspace folder.
No additional software or account is required to use the extension.
Workspace Data
The board is stored in .lumis-kanban/board.json in the workspace root. Keep this folder with the project if you want to preserve or share the board. Generated accomplishment reports are stored in .lumis-kanban/accomplishment-reports/.
Known Issues
Reports include cards from lists named Done only. Set an end date or move completed cards to Done so they can be included in the appropriate reporting period.
Board data is specific to the open workspace; opening a different folder opens that folder's board.
