Glow Affirmations

Glow is a free, local affirmation player for VS Code and compatible editors. The hosted product is retiring. Version 0.2.0 removes accounts, checkout, cloud synchronization, community access, and audio generation from the extension.

What stays

• Five bundled affirmation recordings, available without an internet connection.
• Favorites, playback controls, repeat pause, and theme preferences.
• Calm and Focus binaural beats, white noise, and brown noise, all free.
• Playback of custom recordings already saved on this device by earlier versions.
• Glow: Export Local Library, which saves custom audio and library text to a folder you choose.

The local edition makes no account, billing, analytics, or generation requests. Your existing cache and recordings are preserved when you update. A recording that was never downloaded cannot be recovered by the local edition; its cached text is included in the export when available. Export any recordings you want to keep before clearing editor storage or removing your old installation.

Get started

Open Glow from the Activity Bar, choose an affirmation, and press play. No sign-in, subscription, or API key is needed. Use headphones for binaural beats.

Read the sunset notes for what changed and how to preserve an existing library. New features and ongoing maintenance are not promised. The source remains available for forks.

The active extension entry point is src/extension.ts. It reads local files and VS Code storage only. Historical service clients and their tests remain in the source for reference; they are not imported by the local extension entry point. The hosted backend and private operational configuration are not part of this repository.

Release artifacts include a checksum and build provenance. For a tagged release:

Licensing and branding

The device-side extension code is licensed under GPL-3.0-or-later. The five bundled affirmation recordings and designated non-logo artwork are reusable under CC BY 4.0. Third-party components retain their respective licenses as documented in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md.

The Glow name, logos, icons, marketplace identity, and designated brand assets are not licensed for use in modified or third-party distributions. Forks must use their own name, publisher identity, and branding. See the trademark policy, asset license, and rebranding guide.

For a hosted-data export or deletion request during the transition, contact support@justglow.dev. Do not include passwords, access tokens, or private audio in public issues.
