Code Portal

An optional VS Code extension integrates with the Code Portal plugin from the JetBrains Marketplace to make switching between code editors smooth as butter. It automatically opens the correct project folder, file, and (if this extension is installed) even auto selects previous highlighted text.

This is especially useful when you're using an AI-powered code editor or working with VS Code alongside JetBrains IDEs.

Features

• For JetBrains IDEs

  • Open the current file and line in a target editor (e.g., VS Code, Cursor, Windsurf) using a single shortcut or command:

    • Code Portal: Open in VS Code

    • Code Portal: Open in Cursor

    • Code Portal: Open in Windsurf

• For VS Code, Cursor, and Windsurf (requires this extension to be installed):

  • Automatic text selection

  • Auto-toggle the AI chat window when arriving in the editor with a text selection (can be disabled via the codePortal.autoToggleChat setting)

  • Open the current file and line in a JetBrains IDE (configurable via the codePortal.defaultJetBrainsIDE setting):

    • Code Portal: Open in JetBrains IDE
