I also recommend turning on bracket pair colorizer by adding the following two lines inside your settings.json file:

"editor.bracketPairColorization.enabled": true,
"editor.guides.bracketPairs":"active"

And on top of that installing extensions called "Babel ES6/ES7" and "City Lights Icon Package", if you want to have your syntax highlighting and overall look to be the same as I intended.
