IAPL Toolkit

Salesforce tools pack for VS Code and Cursor. Installing the pack enables the six extensions. Each one opens its own panel; there is no central toolkit hub.

What is included

Salesforce validate. Validate metadata against an authenticated org. Pick the org, select git changes (delta) or a package.xml, set the test level, and run a check-only validation. The panel shows progress, component errors, failed tests, and coverage.

Profile FLS. Edit profile Field-Level Security in the repository or retrieve profiles from an authenticated org. Select org, fields, and profiles; apply the changes to local XML.

User Cloner. Copy a user from one org to another, or assign Permission Sets and groups to an existing user. A dry-run preview always runs before create or assign. Production as a target stays blocked unless you enable it in settings. The Explain access mode shows why a user can or cannot access an object, field, system permission, or record: profile, permission set, permission set group, muting, OWD, owner, role hierarchy, queue, or share. When access is missing, it offers to assign the permission sets that grant it.

Org Health. Lists orgs authenticated in Salesforce CLI. For each alias you see session status, API version, latency, and a license summary. From the same row you can open Setup or renew web login, reusing the alias.

Where Used. Right-click a field, class, flow, LWC, and so on (or put the cursor on a name and press Ctrl+Alt+U) to see what uses it. Sources are the org's dependency API and the repository. Flow versions are grouped and the active one is flagged. The panel also says whether the component can be deleted, or can be deleted after cleaning permissions and translations.

Setup Drift. Metadata changed by hand in an org, outside any deploy, in the last N days. Each change shows whether the next deploy will overwrite it or whether it exists only in the org. It includes the Setup Audit Trail without user-administration noise, and you can retrieve the org version to put it under version control.

Requirements

Salesforce CLI (sf) on PATH and at least one authenticated org. git on PATH for Where Used and Setup Drift. Write operations (create user, assign access, validate deploy, retrieve) use that CLI session; the extensions do not store tokens or passwords.

After install

Reload the editor window. Open the panel you need from the command palette by searching for IAPL.
