Hyna Developer Tracker

Privacy-first developer activity tracking and live telemetry for Hyna Management workspaces.

Connects VS Code, Cursor, and Google Antigravity seamlessly with the Hyna Management dashboard to provide real-time presence, verified active coding duration, project/task association, and safe activity metrics without compromising privacy.

Features

• Secure Member Authentication: Pair your IDE directly using your one-time connection code from the Hyna Management dashboard (/settings/integrations). Identity is validated and issued by the backend; arbitrary user IDs are strictly prevented.
• Active Coding Time vs Total Time: Accurately measures active coding time (keyboard/editor activity) separately from idle time and total IDE open time.
• Window Focus & Idle Detection: Automatically detects when VS Code is minimized, in the background, or when the system is inactive, transitioning to Idle/Paused states.
• Live Dashboard Synchronization: Streams real-time heartbeats and activity status to the Hyna Management live dashboard (developer_sessions and developer_activity_events).
• Offline Resilient: Safely queues activity events locally if the internet connection is interrupted, automatically replaying them in batch upon reconnection.
• Project & Task Tagging: Associate your tracking session directly with your assigned Hyna projects and tasks.
• Privacy-First Design: Never records keystrokes, source code contents, clipboard contents, passwords, personal files, or browsing history. Only safe relative file paths (e.g., src/App.tsx) and metadata are recorded.
• Role-Based Visibility: Members view only their own activity; managers view assigned project teams; executives view company-wide activity.
• Admin Access Control: Admins can approve or revoke member access directly from the dashboard; the extension respects revoked access in real time.

Status Bar Indicators

The status bar item in the bottom right corner shows live status and updates every second:

• $(circle-slash) Hyna: Disconnected — Extension is not yet connected to a Hyna account.
• $(plug) Hyna: Connected — Connected to Hyna, ready to start tracking.
• $(pulse) Hyna: Tracking [00:15:32] — Actively tracking code changes; displays active coding duration.
• $(history) Hyna: Idle [00:15:32] — User inactive beyond timeout threshold.
• $(debug-pause) Hyna: Paused [00:15:32] — Tracking temporarily paused.
• $(sync~spin) Hyna: Syncing... — Synchronizing events with the Hyna backend.

Clicking the status bar item opens a quick action menu.

Installation & Distribution (.VSIX)

The extension is packaged as a standalone .vsix file for internal distribution to team members without requiring public marketplace publishing.

1. Install via VS Code GUI

1. Open VS Code.
2. Go to the Extensions view (Ctrl+Shift+X or Cmd+Shift+X).
3. Click the ... (Views and More Actions) menu in the top right corner of the Extensions panel.
4. Select Install from VSIX....
5. Browse and select hyna-developer-tracker-1.0.0.vsix.

code --install-extension hyna-developer-tracker-1.0.0.vsix

3. Connect to Hyna Management

1. Log in to your Hyna Management dashboard (e.g. http://localhost:5173 or production URL).
2. Navigate to Settings -> IDE Integrations (/settings/integrations).
3. Click Connect VS Code (or Connect Antigravity) and click Generate Connection Code.
4. Copy your pairing code (e.g. HYNA-VSCD-1234 or HYNA-AGY-5678).
5. In VS Code, press Ctrl+Shift+P, run Hyna Tracker: Connect Account, and paste your code.
6. The extension will automatically verify your identity, display your name and role, and begin tracking!

Privacy Guarantee

The Hyna Developer Tracker is built with strict privacy boundaries:

• NO Keystroke Recording: Only detects that typing occurred to calculate active duration; never logs what you typed.
• NO Source Code Contents: Never reads, transfers, or inspects source code file contents.
• NO Screenshots or Screen Capture: No screen viewing or recording.
• NO Clipboard Access: Never inspects clipboard contents.
• NO Personal Files: Personal or excluded projects can be marked with a single click.
