Codex Token Usage is a Visual Studio Code extension that reads Codex session JSONL log files and summarizes token usage across common time ranges.

The extension extracts token usage records written at the end of Codex sessions and aggregates them into clear, human-readable summaries.

All data is processed locally. The extension does not send or upload any information.

Features

• Display today’s token usage directly in the VS Code Status Bar

• View aggregated usage in a panel by time range:

  • Last 7 days
  • This month
  • Last month

• Detailed breakdown for each range:

  • total
  • input
  • cached
  • output
  • reasoning

• Configurable path to the Codex session JSONL log file

• Automatic refresh with manual refresh command support
