HASA Coding Agent
Free, local-first AI coding agent for VS Code. Bring your own API key — Nara, Zen, Gemini, Groq, or any OpenAI-compatible router — and pick from free models.
Like Cline: install, paste a key, chat. Diffs open in VS Code's native diff editor.
Install
Search HASA in the Extensions view and hit Install. Or:
code --install-extension hasa.hasa-vscode-ext
Setup (30 seconds)
Ctrl+Shift+P → HASA: Setup API Key & Model → pick provider → paste key → pick model (Free badge = $0).
Ctrl+Shift+P → HASA: Open Chat.
Your key is stored only on this machine (%USERPROFILE%\.hasa\config.json on Windows, ~/.hasa/config.json elsewhere). Env vars (NARA_API_KEY, ZEN_API_KEY, GEMINI_API_KEY, GROQ_API_KEY) override the file.

Safety
Every destructive action (write_file, edit_file, run_shell) asks first: once / session / always-for-project. All tool calls are logged to ~/.hasa/sessions/*.json. Keys are sent only to your provider's host — never anywhere else.
Same config as the terminal
hasa-agent CLI and this extension share one config file, so setup in one place configures both:
npm install -g hasa-agent
hasa setup
